General.
Ratby, Leicester LE60LP is our base.
Please book your workshop experience via our easy to use online booking system. You will then pay on the day for items made (we have a card machine available for use, and also welcome cash, and bank transfers). We do not send tickets, so please keep your confirmation email.
You do not need to bring anything other than closed toe shoes!

Got a group of 6–10 and want a private party? – £20 pp + materials for a 2 or 2.5 hour session / £25pp for 3 hours at our workshop. Ring May on 07923 450298 to arrange.

We have a no spectators policy because we know that young people create amazing glass art without help. Plus every space is needed for a paying customer: we’re really nice, but this is our income after all.

As we do not have set opening times at our base, please do not turn up without checking someone will be here unless you are booked on a workshop, and please do not enter our home or garden unless it is for a workshop!
Doors open for workshops 10 minutes before your start time, and not before. Even though we are having as lovely time as you, the contact time with customers is a fraction of our job, and we work for hours either side. Please help us by keeping to the workshop times allocated.
Family Friendly sessions or Private Parties are best for young children; young people aged 9 & over are welcome at all sessions.
You do not need to prepare or bring anything – but please feel welcome to look to this website (rather than google) for inspiration, as we know how every piece has been made.
SAFETY
Safety goggles are provided and recommended
Please wear shoes with closed toes if you value your feet.
LOCATION and PARKING
The vast majority of our workshops are at 4 Markfield Road Ratby LE60LP
*avoid using a sat nav, as some will take you to the wrong location! We are easy to find with a map*
If there is space for your car, please park snugly on the drive, otherwise there will be space in the layby further up Markfield Road on the left. Please do not park in front of our neighbours houses or our house as we are opposite a bus stop, near a junction and a shop, If you do, we will annoy you by asking you to move your car, and nobody wants that.
If you think you might need to leave early please don’t be the first to park, as if you get blocked in it is not fair to expect others to move their cars before they have finished, and you will be asked to wait.
DOGS
We have four very friendly but barky dogs that are only allowed out once all attendees are in the workshop. Please keep the gates closed.
REFRESHMENTS & AMENITIES
Drinks are included and provided at the table.
If you want to bring snacks, please bear in mind there will be up to a total of 10 people in the room. Many customers offer to share, as it’s that kind of nice atmosphere.
We accept no responsibility if you think you might be eating glass – do bear in mind it is a working environment.
We do have a visitors toilet, in fact most people recommend a visit to the smallest room as it has more glass examples in it!
LARGER ITEMS & SPECIAL REQUESTS
If you would like to work with a piece of glass of dimensions greater than 45cm this needs to be requested a few days before your session so we can prepare it and you will need to book (and pay for) a double space please.

B) If we cancel, yes! full refund of course.
C) If you want to transfer to a new date or venue AND are giving at least one month’s notice:
Transfers to a new date within one month of your original date are free of charge but restricted to twice a year.
Please bear in mind….
The attendance fee is our bread and butter. Or fish and chips. Or cream cakes. You get the idea. Basically, if we transfer you, and no one fills your space, our wage for that day is reduced. This is also one of the reasons why we have a ‘no spectators’ policy – every space is needed for a paying customer, this is how we pay our bills.
POSTAGE
Glass and postage can be a bad combination, and we don’t recommend it. If you really need something to be posted, please be aware that the charge will be more than the actual postage, as we spent considerable time packing to avoid damage.
Kits are to be collected from our base in Ratby please, we do not post kits.
